Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This privacy policy explains how bizcover.co.uk (“this site”, “I”, “me”) collects and uses information about visitors. The site is run by Thoughtful Bob, who is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can contact me through the Contact page.

What information is collected

  • Information you give me: if you use the contact form or leave a comment, I receive what you submit, such as your name, email address and message. Please don’t send sensitive information or details of a legal or insurance dispute.
  • Usage information: like most websites, this site and its service providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how you arrived at the site.
  • Cookies: small files stored on your device. See the Cookie Policy.

Cookies and consent

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), non-essential cookies are only set with your consent. This site uses CookieYes to show a cookie banner when you first visit. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies, and change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the site. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.

Google services

  • Google Site Kit and Google Analytics: this site uses Google’s Site Kit plugin to connect to Google Analytics and Google Search Console. With your consent, Google Analytics uses cookies to help me understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC.
  • Google AdSense (if enabled): this site may show adverts served by Google. With your consent, Google and its partners use cookies to show adverts based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how adverts perform. Where you haven’t consented to personalised ads, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use cookies for purposes such as frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • Embedded videos (YouTube): some pages may include YouTube videos. YouTube may set cookies and collect information when you play an embedded video.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage personalised advertising through Google’s My Ad Center.

Why I use your information (lawful bases)

  • Consent: for analytics, advertising and other non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interests: to run, secure and improve the site, prevent spam and abuse, and reply to messages you send me.
  • Legal obligation: where I am required to keep or disclose information by law.

Who your information is shared with

I do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers who help run this site, including the web hosting company, the content delivery and security network that protects the site, Google (Analytics, Search Console, AdSense and YouTube), the cookie consent tool, the contact form plugin and spam-protection services. Some of these providers may transfer data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to use appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long information is kept

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Comments remain on the site until they are removed. Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in Google Analytics. Cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please use the Contact page.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
